Abstract

Jewish mysticism is an important topic in Jewish studies, but what is quite interesting is that Jewish mysticism with the nature of being a secret movement has turned out to be a mass communication. This study focuses on the phenomenon of mass communication of Jewish mysticism, taking the modern Hasidic movement as an example. From the perspective of communication studies, it explores the path of realisation of the mass communication of Jewish mysticism and the problems it has created in modern society. The study finds that religious rituals and religious leaders have played an important role in the mass dissemination of Jewish mysticism, but the downward movement of Jewish mysticism to the masses has also brought about a crisis in the Jewish tradition and the problem of functional alienation in the postmodern context.
